Fishing is as hot as it gets right now, redfish, trout and snook are all feeding on the moving tides, points, docks and mangroves are all offering great ambush points for feeding predators. Recent weeks have seen snook up to 36 inches , redfish up to 38 inches and trout up to 24 inches! Live bait reigns supreme but artificial

Spring is in the air.......somewhat! inbetween the arctic air that is still pushing its way to Florida ,the bite has been fantastic!

Trout are striking on hard plastics and live bait. Most of the fish are in the low to mid slot sized but are fun to catch and perfect for the grill or pan.

Redfish are making an appearence as well, they seem to be the best feeders after the front. My recent clients have done well fishing cut bait on the bottom. its a relaxing way to fish, the baits are deployed and the rods placed in the holders. This style of fishing allows for time to really take in all mother nature has to offer. Until the Chaos begins!

Snook are chewing well right before

The trout bite has been on fire recently in Tampa Bay, fishing the upper reaches of the bay just north and west of downtown! My recent Clients have been catching fish in the 14 to 18 inch range with several fish over the 20 inch mark showing up! redfish have been chewing and should increase  in numbers  as the weather turns colder. This is perfect for the kids and the family, lots af action to keep the kids interested! These trips are run oout of my 22 ft bay boat, the ultimate in comfort and built for fishing several anglers!

For the artificial guys the redfish have been chewing on DOA Shad tails fished on the incoming tide in the mullet, reds in the 18 to 24 inch range are the norm.Wading to the fish is sometimes an must as the water is gin clear and a stealthy approach is a must! This trip is geared to the hard core fisherman, using the 16 action craft  and poling

As of 9/27/12 no charter will be booked without a deposit, here is how it works.

A $100 deposit will be required to reserve your time frame.

under 48 hour booking $200 deposit for your time frame

Under 36 hours, paid in full upfront.

Cancellations:

if Capt Tim cancelles due to weather, you will recieve a full refund of deposited monies.

if Capt Tim is unable to make your set time he will have another captain for you or refund your deposit

.(the above will not happen unless an emergency, I have only missed one charter in my career, the day my father in law passed away)

This is for your protection as well as Capt. Tim's, This is Capt Tim's full time vocation!

in preperation of your charter:

there is reasearch time involved, checking tides, weather, and moon phases.

There is money spent on ice, fuel, water, bait, live or artificial

Boats to be cleaned, batteries to be charged, rods to be rigged, reels checked , rods checked.

The prep time is usually over an hour , easily,

clean up time after your day on the water is around 1 to 2 hours. (this does not include drive time)

Yes, this is a fun job, and  I generally enjoy every minute , but to not show up or give a last minute call to cancel takes food off my table and I lose a days pay, think how you would feel if your boss cancelled you without pay, without notice! What would it do to your finances if this happend 2 or 3 times in a 2 week span, it affects Capt Tim the same way, I apologize if this sounds blunt, but I will not be duped again! Everytime it was a friend of a friend, or a last minute call for a charter!

If a deposit is not made, Capt Tim will not be at the ramp

night time is the right time! PDF Print E-mail

the night bite has been fantastic! Snook to 39 inches, trout to 24 and some redfish in the mix! Using live bait has been the key but these fish are feeding well and a well placed fly oir artificial bait will most likely get pounded! I recently fished with Kaden and his Dad, Ron, we fished at night on our first of three excursions. After a couple of trout and ladyfish the darkness began to cover the bay like a thick blanket. We made our way to a dock and could see the snook under neath, the excitement was radiating from my clients, we bested sever snook all over 30 inches excpt one!

Trip 2 we fished snapper and the guys really got on them well with several in the 3 lb
