Fishing this past week has been like eating at a good Buffet, what ever your pleasure! I fished with clients that wanted meat, silver trout were coming over the gunnels at a very rapid pace, at times I had a hard time keeping up ! I also had clients just wanting to bend rods, that was done as well, fishing the creek systems we boated tons of redfish, trout, lady fish and sheepshead! One trip I think we caught over 200 fish!I IN 4 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This can be the norm as the weather becomes cooler! Sunday I had one a trip on the skiff, poling to redfish was the plan, the overcast skies made that a little diffucult, and after a little adventure getting to the spot on the low water Brad scored a nice flounder, and many trout! We moved on to a flat that holds redfish on the incoming tide, we both missed as few and caught a few, the picture is Brads Redfish, caught in knee deep water on a DOA Shad tail fishing the mullet schools! Also this past week the GATOR trout made an apperance, lots of moving around to find them, but when we do it is worth the time spent stalking them! Some of these fish are in the 18 to 25 inch range with an occasional fish in the upper 20's! DOA soft plastics work well for these big slob trout, just keep in mind the season is still closed so handle with care, take a quick pic and let the fish revive well before you release it boatside! This time of year the bite can be really good! There are quaility fish around, and there are fish in big numbers....pick your poison! If you are a family looking to catch a bunch of fish, one hardcore angler looking for the one right bite, you have an addiction to sight casting, fishing in skinny water, you want to fly fish or you are just looking to do a red solo cup kinda trip, all the above can be done from the 22 bay or the 16 Action Craft! |
